Restorative Dentistry in Lorton

Revitalizing Smiles Throughout Lorton

When your smile doesn’t work like it should, your whole mouth can suffer. Little dental issues can turn into larger problems rather quickly, which can be detrimental to your wellness and your wallet. Don’t let a minor problem spiral into something more complicated, requiring more invasive treatment.

Restorative dentistry at Desired Dental focuses on saving your natural teeth when possible, and ensuring that your gums, teeth, and jaw all work together in harmony. It’s not only how your smile looks that matters, but also how it functions. Missing teeth can cause bone loss over time, and healthy teeth can be affected. This can throw off your bite, lead to jaw pain and excess wear, and diminish the look of your smile.

Whatever restorations need to be done to perfect your smile, know that you’re in great hands with Dr. Demewoz and his team at Desired Dental. Our compassion and commitment to our patients means we’ll always be your number one advocate.

Whether it’s a simple filling to stop the spread of decay, or you’re looking to take the plunge and have an entire smile makeover done with our full-mouth restoration services, we’re here to help. Dr. Demewoz even places and restores dental implants right in the comfort of our office with the team of professionals you trust.

When your smile isn’t exactly what you desire, turn to Desired Dental and see how we can restore the natural beauty of your smile and get your mouth feeling better and looking great.

One of the most common restorations performed in the dental industry are fillings. Get rid of tooth decay and replace them with our composite, tooth-colored fillings that blend in with your natural teeth. The process is simple and quick, and you’ll be smiling with healthy, decay-free teeth the same day!

Porcelain Inlays & Onlays

If a traditional filling isn’t suitable for your situation, we may recommend a porcelain inlay or onlay restoration. An inlay is a custom-made porcelain filling that fits inside the tooth cavity, whereas an onlay fills the tooth cavity and covers one or more of the tooth’s cusps. These restorations are more durable than regular fillings and actually strengthen the structure of the tooth.

Dental Crowns

If your tooth has become weakened due to decay or endodontic therapy, you’ve received a large filling, or your tooth is severely damaged, consider a dental crown. Dental crowns are “cap-like” restorations that are placed over your tooth and repair the shape and structure of the original tooth. The crown is cemented into place and fully covers the entire tooth above the gum line. We offer fully ceramic or porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns depending on your situation.

Dental Bridges

One solution for missing teeth is a dental bridge. Using two crowns as anchors for a prosthetic tooth, a dental bridge can replace one tooth or a series of missing teeth. The healthy teeth on each side of the gap are prepared and crowns are cemented into place, holding the replacement teeth in place. We use either metal–free or porcelain-fused-to-metal bridges.

Partials are a removable type of denture that are used when some healthy teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw. Prosthetic teeth are attached to a base that matches your gums, and using metal framework, the partial is kept in place in your mouth. Partials are one of many options for replacing missing teeth.

A full set of dentures is an option for patients who have lost all of their natural teeth. These removable appliances replace missing teeth with prosthetics. Dentures are an affordable, cost-effective solution to missing teeth.

Dental implants are a permanent replacement for missing teeth, and are the most natural looking solution. A titanium post is inserted into your jawbone, and a prosthetic tooth or crown is placed onto the post. Dr. Demewoz can place and restore your implants right in our office! Endodontics (Root Canal Treatment)

No one likes to hear the words “root canal.” But rest assured, if we recommend endodontic therapy, you’ll be relaxed and comfortable throughout the procedure. A root canal is necessary when the tooth becomes severely decayed or infected. We’ll remove the nerve and pulp of the tooth, and clean and seal it. You’ll be pain-free and retain your natural tooth. We do these treatments in the comfort of our office.

Oral Surgery

If you need oral surgery, don’t worry. Whether it’s a minor extraction or straightforward wisdom teeth removal, we’ve got you covered. As Dr. Demewoz performs your oral surgery, our team will always ensure you’re free of discomfort and remain relaxed. In more advanced cases of bony impactions or extractions, we’ll refer you to a trusted and qualified specialist/oral surgeons.
